ISAPS World Congress 2026, Cancún will feature special award lectures: Ohmori lecture, the most cited and most downloaded papers published in the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal, the best paper award, the best paper presented by a young surgeon, the patient safety award, and the new humanitarian award.

Ohmori Prize Lecture

The Ohmori Lecture will take place during the Opening Ceremony on Wednesday October 28, 2026 at 18:30.

Ohmori Prize was inaugurated in 1992, in recognition of the recipients’ individual lifetime achievements and contributions to the field of aesthetic plastic surgery.

 

 

This year’s Ohmori prize is posthumously awarded to the late Dr. Carlos Uebel: ISAPS Past President, dedicated career-long ISAPS contributor , and world-renowned plastic surgeon, who won global acclaim for pioneering hair restoration and body contouring techniques.

Dr. Renato Saltz, Past President of ISAPS, will deliver the Ohmori Lecture on behalf of Dr. Carlos Uebel, to honor and pay our respects to the legacy, leadership, and friendship of a dedicated mentor and member of our ISAPS Family. 

Foad Nahai Award for Patient Safety

Safety of Combining Versus Isolated Cosmetic Breast Surgery and Abdominoplasty by Drs. Samuel Knoedler, Michael Alfertshofer, Dany Y. Matar, Giuseppe Sofo, Gabirel Hundeshagen, Oliver Didzun, Amir K. Humanitarian Award

Introduced in 2026, the new Humanitarian Award reflects ISAPS’s commitment to recognizing excellence not only in scientific and artistic achievement, but also in compassion, integrity, and global responsibility. It honors individuals whose work restores dignity, rebuilds lives after trauma, and expands access to high-quality surgical care in underserved communities around the world.

The inaugural Humanitarian Award has been awarded to Dr. Gottfied Lemperle, Founder of INTERPLAST-Germany e.V. The second-largest European Medical NGO Operating Worldwide. 

The following doctors have also been recognized for their outstanding contributions and dedication to humanitarian causes:
