Sustainability

ISAPS is committed to promoting responsible consumption and create a more environmentally friendly and ethically compliant event experience.

Our Commitment

ISAPS is committed to supporting a more sustainable future for all. We are focused on creating an environmentally friendly Congress and have therefore taken significant actions to ensure we are aligned with these sustainable efforts.

By adopting this approach, we aim to promote responsible consumption and ensure an ethically compliant event experience.

The Cancun Convention Center, our chosen Congress venue, is committed to high sustainability standards and complies with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. With the establishment of their Cancun Center Foundation, they aim to give to back to community with initiatives such as beach clean-ups, while simultaneously creating and running meetings with a cause. We look forward to their support to keep this year's World Congress ethical and sustainable.

What We're Doing

Bags: We will not be providing physical tote bags at the ISAPS World Congress 2026, Cancun.  Attendees are encouraged to bring their own bags and utilize QR codes around the convention center to access this year's e-Bag.

Reducing print: ISAPS no longer provides printed materials except for a limited number of a small program overview. We provide a congress app and digital materials. We will use recycled or recyclable materials where possible.

Paper Flyers: We are recommending that all organizations refrain from bringing paper flyers to promote their company, products and/or services. Digital flyers will be accessible via the e-Bag.

Water Stations: We will have a number of water stations where delegates can help themselves when required. In certain circumstances where water bottles are required, we will be using reusable glass bottles rather than single use plastic bottles.

Minimization of food waste and redistribution of leftovers: At ISAPS, we carefully plan catering to minimize food waste. During our World Congress in Cancun, any leftover food from the venue will be collected by a local charity and redistributed to organizations supporting vulnerable communities.

Reducing the use of temporary materials: Event signage will be provided digitally or on cardboard, rather than plastic, wherever possible. Single use-use crockery and cutlery will be avoided whenever feasible.
Encouraging our exhibitors and suppliers to implement sustainable actions: we ask our exhibitors, partner societies, and suppliers to adopt the same sustainability measures as ISAPS, promoting consistent and responsible practices across the event.

Supporting local charities and social enterprises: As in previous congresses, ISAPS is working to offer various local enterprises and charities to exhibit in Cancun.

What Delegates Can Do

Lanyards: We are encouraging all attendees to return their lanyards to us via a drop box facility at the end of the Congress so that they can be reused at future events.

Re-usable bottles: Water and coffee will be available on-site and we encourage delegates to bring their own re-usable drinking receptacles for use throughout the Congress.

Public Transportation: Where possible, we highly recommend utilising the public bus system available in Cancun to get around.

Waste Management: While onsite at the ISAPS World Congress 2026, we kindly ask all participants to dispose of waste responsibly and make use of recycling facilities wherever possible.
