Registration FAQs

Registration for the ISAPS Olympiad Athens World Congress can be found here 

Participation to this event is open to Board-Certified Plastic Surgeons or residents in a recognized plastic surgery training program only.

If you are not an ISAPS Member, you will be asked to upload a proof of your certification or residency. Documents and final approval of registration and participation will be done by the ISAPS National Secretaries of the delegate’s country or by the ISAPS Membership Chair.

Any delegates that fail to produce a satisfactory document will be automatically cancelled and refunded according to the cancellation policy (see paragraph on cancellation of registration). A 20% administrative fee will be retained from all refunds except for visa denials.

The registration link will lead you to a page where you can either log-in to an existing X-CD-account or create a new account.

Both the Pre-congress course on Aug 30 and social program are not included in the full registration and need to be booked in addition.  

Yes, if they register either as a full event attendee or as an Accompanying person/guest. Registering someone as an Accompanying guest allows them access to the Exhibition Hall where the refreshment breaks take place. (Note: Plastic surgeons cannot be registered as APs/guests). 

Requests for refunds will be granted for cancellation until June 29, 2023 and must be emailed to registrar@isaps.org. No refunds will be granted for any reason thereafter, except in cases of failure to obtain a visa to enter Greece (with documentary evidence from Embassy or Consulate) or COVID-19 / other travel restrictions imposed directly by the government of Greece. 

In case of cancellation due to illness/accidents, we will require your medical certificate from a local hospital/doctor, including the delegate’s full name and dates of document creation. 

To ensure the refund application can be successful, the document should be from the few days before the trip and no later than 2 days after the trip departure.  

Refunds are at ISAPS’ discretion. 

A 20% administrative fee will be retained from all refunds except for visa denials.   

If you are unable to travel due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, we will offer you the option to convert your onsite participation to a virtual attendance ticket (and we will refund you the difference in the fee). 

ISAPS will not be responsible for any travel-related costs. Please contact your travel provider for their current change fee and cancellation policies. For your travel arrangements, we recommend that you contact your travel agency and hotel as soon as possible to modify your bookings. It is your responsibility to cancel/modify any travel/hotel reservations. 

ISAPS recommends all travellers take out their own travel insurance which includes COVID-19 cover.

A receipt is automatically sent to your email address once you have completed your registration. This is also your invoice. Please check your spam filter if you don’t receive this within an hour of registering. 

Registration will remain open throughout the event for both onsite and virtual attendance. If you miss the event, you will have the opportunity to register for On Demand access post-event. 

No, but if you log into your member profile and pay your 2023 dues, you will then be eligible for the discounted registration fee. 

Dues payments for 2023 opened on October 1, 2022, and payments made since that date cover the period from date of payment to December 31, 2023. For multi-year memberships, it will be December 31 of the years following.

The membership year is from January 1 to December 31, 2023.

As soon as you have applied and paid your membership fee, you will be able to access the Member fees to register for the Congress as a Pending Member. However, this will only apply if you register before August 15, 2023. 

In the event that your Member application is not successful, the application fee is not refundable, but you will still be able to attend the Olympiad as a Non-Member. 

Join NOW! Do not wait if you would like to register as a new Member of ISAPS to attend the ISAPS Olympiad Athens World Congress 2023 at a reduced fee! As ISAPS’ membership year is from January 1 to December 31, 2023, you do not save any money by renewing later in 2023. Your membership will still end on December 31, 2023.  

In the event of a double booking (where a participant has made two registrations for the event), ISAPS must be notified in writing on or before June 29, 2023, at registrar@isaps.org. The registration fee for the second booking will be refunded, minus a 20% administration charge. Refunds will not be given for double bookings after this date. No refunds will be issued for Congress ‘No-shows‘. 

We offer an “Accompanying Person Exhibition Only Ticket” that can be bought by a registered participant. Alternatively, you can purchase a Day Ticket which gives you access to both the Scientific Program and the Exhibition. 

No, the registration is only valid when the “Complete” button is clicked and full payment has been received. Payment can be made by the following credit cards: American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa.

Yes, the ISAPS hotels for the Olympiad Athens World Congress are the Divani Caravel and the Royal Olympic.

We recommend you book your accommodation early to guarantee a place at one of the above mentioned hotels.

There will be an On Demand archive available.

We aim to provide on-demand access to recordings within 24hours after a session has ended. Please understand that some recordings will need additional editing post Congress so may take longer. On-demand content will be available for viewing until September 2nd, 2024.

Athens International Airport is 32 km from the Megaron Athens Concert Hall.  

You can take bus X95 from the airport or a 35-minute ride on the Metro’s Line 3 (Blue Line).

Taxis from the designated waiting area at the airport charge a flat fee of €40 to the City Centre between the hours of 05:00 – 24:00 and €55 between 00:00 – 05:00 

Note: The charge is determined by the time of arrival at the destination and includes all applicable surcharges and extras.

There is easy access to the Concert Hall for the disabled, and there are specially designed restrooms on all levels, as well as trolley bars. If you require assistance, please ensure that you enter this information when you register, and we will contact you to arrange.

Recording (photographic, video and audio) of the sessions and exhibit hall during the ISAPS World Congress is strictly prohibited. Our sessions are available to delegates to view On Demand, online after the Congress for a period of one year.

The unauthorized recording or capturing of videos accessible on the ISAPS on-demand platform, video library or any other ISAPS platform or communication channel, whether through video, audio, photography, or screenshots, is explicitly forbidden.

Scientific Program – Abstracts FAQs

No. The Call for Papers is open for Non-Members too. Please note that if you are not currently a Member of ISAPS, you will need to apply to become a member first in order to benefit from discounted Congress registration fees. Please check above in the Registration section.  

Yes. For the ISAPS Olympiad Athens World Congress 2023 we are only taking abstract submissions from plastic surgeons or residents in a certified plastic surgery program only. Any submission(s) that are from other fields will not be considered for the Scientific Program.

January 31, 2023 | 6PM EST time. 

You can edit your abstract up until the above deadline date by going into your profile and editing your submitted abstract. 

Notification of your abstract status will be sent to you at the email address you used for submission in April 2023. If your abstract is, for any reason, not accepted, your registration will be refundable on request, less a $25 processing fee. Refund requests for declined abstracts can be submitted by no later than May 15, 2023. 

  • Acceptance 

All accepted abstracts will be published in a cite-able supplement to ISAPS Official Journal: Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and you will have publication opportunities for full paper submissions.   

  • Top Papers 

Selected top papers stand the chance of being awarded a free registration to our 2024 World Congress in Colombia; invited speaker status at that meeting; for a few selected best resident papers and a $1,000 research / education stipend.

Scientific Program – Other FAQs

The ISAPS Olympiad Athens World Congress 2023, Athens, Greece, 30/08/2023-02/09/2023 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 26 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credit to AMA credit can be found at www.ama-assn.org/education/earn-credit-participation-international-activities.

Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognised by the UEMS-EACCME® for ECMEC®s are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

To receive a certificate of attendance, you must complete the conference overall evaluation form before October 3, 2023.

To receive a CME certificate (valid for in-person and on-demand participants), you also need to complete the evaluation form for each session(s) you attended in-person or watched on demand. Please ensure you have done so by the very latest 3rd December 2023 as CME is not available to claim after this date. 

You will be able to access the evaluation form in the Congress app or in the Virtual Platform from Saturday, September 2, 2023.

Yes, all delegates can watch on-demand recordings of our keynote lectures, surgery video courses, masterclasses, invited presentations, and a free communications program (except poster-discussion sessions on Open Stage). We aim to provide on-demand access to recordings within 24 hours after a session has ended. Please understand that some recordings will need additional editing post-Congress so may take longer.
