Dear Friends, Colleagues, and #ISAPSFamily,
The countdown is on… in less than three weeks, I look forward to welcoming you to Cancún, Mexico, for our much-anticipated World Congress! The education- and networking-filled program will kick off on October 27 with the Residents' Symposium. I want to remind our ISAPS residents who haven’t registered yet to do so—don't miss out. It’s a great opportunity to learn tips and tricks, mingle with peers, and network with speakers.
On the same day, we welcome the largest-ever group of our National Secretaries to their annual meeting and workshop. This is a great opportunity for our National and Assistant National Secretaries from all around the globe to come together in person, to reflect, plan, and strengthen our mission.
For the first time, all delegates have complimentary access to our Intra-Op with the Masters program, a full day of didactic plenary teaching sessions, on Wednesday, October 28, delivered by 24 of our top ISAPS experts. This intensive ‘almost live’ program takes you on a comprehensive journey through the latest techniques and state-of-the-art interventions, and you’ll have a chance to talk to the experts who can answer your questions in person.
Our official Opening and Awards Ceremony takes place directly following our sessions on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. All attendees and their accompanying persons are invited to attend our welcome address and awards celebration, followed by a special surprise entertainment! This year’s Ohmori Award is especially poignant, as it goes to our dear ISAPS friend and mentor, the late Dr. Carlos Uebel (ISAPS President 2012–2014), and will be presented by Dr. Renato Saltz (ISAPS President 2016–2018).
I also have an important update to share on behalf of our ISAPS Board relating to next year’s Olympiad World Congress, 2027. As some of you may now be aware, we have reached a very difficult decision to postpone our Congress in Dubai. We are grateful to our friends and colleagues in the UAE for their support and cooperation in making this hard choice. I can now confirm that the 2027 ISAPS Olympiad will be held in London, United Kingdom, from September 1 to 4, marking our first time hosting our World Congress in the UK. Although we are sorry to have had to change the location on short notice, we are nevertheless working hard to create an unforgettable experience for you in London. Further updates will be communicated soon.
In recent updates, this month I had the privilege of attending the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons (TSPS) 2026 Annual Meeting in Houston from September 18–20. My session, Plastic Surgery Without Borders: Global Trends, Innovations, and Insights (ISAPS Update), was part of a fantastic academic program with incredible social events organized by Dr. Camile Cash, Immediate Past President, and Jennyfer Faridy Cocco, President-Elect, and the current President and Chairman of the program, Dr. Don Collins, Jr.
The meeting combined a warm, welcoming atmosphere with high-quality discussions and experts, including a keynote speaker, Dr. James Stuzin from Florida, who presented an insightful overview of a face lift through time, emphasizing that outstanding results depend less on the chosen technique but rather on the surgeon’s skill and execution.
As I wrap up this month’s message, I want to thank every member who remains a vital part of ISAPS. Together, we bridge cultures, inspire learning, and shape the future of aesthetics.
See you very soon!
Arturo Ramírez-Montañana, MD
