Welcome to beautiful Barra da Tijuca. In the next few days, you will join plastic surgeon colleagues from 75 countries here in Brazil. We are very pleased to present an extraordinary 22nd Congress of ISAPS.
As ISAPS continues to grow, now with nearly 3000 members from 96 countries, we meet every two years on a different continent for our Congress. You will find in our scientific program excellence in aesthetic surgery education with a large and illustrious faculty numbering nearly 300 superb speakers, moderators and chairs from 55 countries, not to mention over 240 presenters of free papers, master classes and lunch seminars. The Chairman of our Scientific Program Committee, Dr. Jorge Herrera, and the Chairman of our Education Council, Dr. Nazim Cerkes, together with their team have produced an outstanding educational program. Our local hosts have organized a wonderful social program, The Carioca Way of Life, to make your visit to Rio unforgettable.
Our exhibit hall will occupy two floors highlighting the latest instruments, technology, and products available on the market. Without the support of these companies, a congress like this would not be possible. Please make an effort to spend some time with all of them.
Brazil is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I hope you have made time in your travel schedule to visit other regions including the vast Amazon, Iguaçu Falls, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, our fantastic beaches, and the many sites right here in Rio de Janeiro.
