61st Brazilian Congress of Plastic Surgery and the ISAPS Symposium

The 61st Brazilian Congress of Plastic Surgery was successfully held from November 12 to 15, 2025, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The program showcased cutting-edge techniques and innovative technologies, featuring an impactful ISAPS Symposium that addressed crucial global perspectives on patient safety. The symposium covered topics ranging from ‘Advanced Non-Excisional Body Sculpting‘ all the way to ‘Minimizing The Risks of a BBL & Maximizing Results at Low or High Volumes‘.

Special congratulations to the ISAPS Board of Director, Dr. Ozan Sozer (United States), and ISAPS Past President, Dr. Nazim Cerkes (Turkiye), for receiving the prestigious international recognition award from the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP); this honor is presented annually to two international plastic surgeons who have made a significant contribution to the education and advancement of plastic surgeons in Brazil.

We also want to recognize Dr. Sherell J. Aston (United States), who was honored with the Comenda Internacional Ivo Pitanguy 2025, for his outstanding scientific contribution and legacy in plastic surgery worldwide. It is the highest honor bestowed by the SBCP in recognition of significant contributions to the field of global plastic surgery.

Our gratitude also goes to Dr. Bertha Torres, ISAPS National Secretaries Chair, for sharing some of the results from the 2024 ISAPS Global Survey during the event.

Additionally, the meeting provided the ISAPS Board with a great opportunity to welcome several new members!

We sincerely thank everyone involved for their contributions to advancing aesthetic education and patient safety worldwide. We also extend our appreciation to SBCP for organizing such a fantastic congress.
