One of the Society’s most prestigious distinctions, recognizing individual lifetime achievement and exceptional contributions to the field of aesthetic plastic surgery.
The ISAPS Seiichi Ohmori Lecture is one of the Society’s most prestigious distinctions. The Ohmori Prize was inaugurated in 1992 to recognize an individual's lifetime achievement and exceptional contributions to the field of aesthetic plastic surgery. It is the privilege of each ISAPS President to select the Ohmori Lecturer, and it is traditionally awarded to a distinguished leader whose work has made a lasting impact on the specialty and on the global surgical community.
It is customary for the recipient to deliver the Seiichi Ohmori Lecture at the Opening Ceremony of an ISAPS World Congress, offering delegates the opportunity to hear from a figure whose career reflects excellence, leadership, and enduring influence in aesthetic plastic surgery. The award also carries an honorarium.
Dr. Lydia Masako Ferreira was awarded the 2024 Ohmori Lecture at ISAPS Congress in Cartagena, Colombia. Dr. Masako Ferreira delivered an inspiring talk titled: 'The path is made by walking'.
Dr. Ohmori was the 6th President of ISAPS (1981-1983) and a Charter Member of the Society. He served as a Traveling Professor (1985-1987) and was the local arrangements chair for several postgraduate courses in Japan. It was Dr. Seiichi Ohmori’s dream to fund a lecture series to be presented at each Biennial Congress as a legacy for his beloved plastic surgery society.
