The Foad Nahai Award for Patient Safety recognizes the best published work in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery related to the topic of patient safety. Presented annually, this award highlights the vital importance of advancing safer practice for both patients and surgeons through high-quality scientific publication.
Eligible articles must be original published papers related to patient and/or surgeon safety. The lead author must be a current ISAPS member, and the article may come from any section of the Journal. Articles published between January 1 and December 31 of the relevant year are considered. The recipient receives formal recognition at the closing ceremony of the nearest ISAPS World Congress or Olympiad.
2025 Foad Nahai Award Winner

Meet Foad Nahai
Dr. Foad Nahai is a former President of both ISAPS and ASAPS (now The Aesthetic Society). He is recognized as a pioneer in plastic surgery, having co-developed the Mathes-Nahai flap classification and served as the former Editor-in-Chief of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. He is celebrated for his extensive work on patient safety, including his development of the Patient Safety Diamond in response to rising medical tourism.
