Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation

It is a non-surgical procedure proposed for the treatment of vaginal atrophy and laxity and for stress urinary incontinence using the CO2 or Erbium laser. The use of laser for vaginal atrophy is not approved by the FDA (August 2018, US Food and Drug Administration) and the clinical trial (Cruz et al) concluded that laser used as a single procedure compared to estriol or laser+ groups Estriol not only did not improve the vaginal health index but could worsen it.

A more recent article on the use of the CO2 laser concludes that the vaginal health index improved after the first session and was maintained for up to 12 months. There was also an improvement in dryness, itching, and dyspareunia and an increase in collagen and elastin as well as a thicker epithelium.
