A Message of Support To Our #ISAPSFamily In Brazil

Further to the record-breaking rainfall in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, with devastating humanitarian consequences, our hearts and thoughts are with our #ISAPSFamily in Brazil and all those affected.

Below, we share a personal message from Dr. Renato Saltz, ISAPS's past president, who was born and grew up in the state of south Brazil, which is seriously affected by the floods.

The floods have so far affected more than 1.9 million people, with 600,000 people displaced, more than 81,000 living in shelters, growing numbers of injured and missing people, as well as an increasing death toll. Many people are homeless with no energy and clean water; freeways, bridges, homes, and airports have been seriously damaged or destroyed.

We send our sincere sympathy and support during this difficult time to all our #ISAPSFamily members, as well as the people of Brazil affected by the floods.

Thank you to those who have offered support. While there is no direct call for medical professionals to travel to support the region at this time, our partners at the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP) are working diligently to collect and secure donations to support the local relief efforts at the source.

We invite you to support their efforts through the donation links and details below:
