Dr. PV Narayanan works as a reconstructive surgeon at the Jubilee Mission Hospital in India. He treats all aspects of cleft lip and palate, including primary and secondary surgeries, with a special interest in cleft rhinoplasty.
The department at the Jubilee Mission Hospital provides comprehensive care for patients with congenital clefts of the lip, palate and complex facial clefts. This is probably the only Department of its kind that is dedicated solely to the care of cleft deformities. It has been in existence at the Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute for more than 53 years, and a total of more than 16,000 cleft surgeries have been performed at this Centre.
The centre was initially supported by organisations like the Simavi, the Rotary club of Dokkum, and the Soroptomisten club all in the Netherlands. Since the year 2000, this centre has been a partner with Smile Train, New York. It was the first centre in India that joined forces with them.
