What can I gain from the ISAPS Mentor Program?

Support From Experienced Colleagues

All of us admire our idols who revealed the secrets of aesthetic plastic surgery and helped us to survive during training the following years in practice.

ISAPS now helps Resident and Associate members to find support from experienced colleagues.

Making Connections

The ISAPS Mentor Program helps Resident and Associate Members connect with experienced mentors who can inspire, guide, and support them throughout their careers. Beyond knowledge-sharing, mentors can introduce mentees to professional networks, international congresses, valuable courses, and open doors to global opportunities.

Through these relationships, mentees build meaningful connections with role models, peers, and potential collaborators, fostering long-term relationships, broaden global perspectives, and help mentees shape their careers with confidence.

Valuable Advice

Mentors give advice on choosing suitable meetings and courses for each level of training. Today a huge variety of aesthetic courses are offered and many early-career colleagues may not aware of what these entail.

In addition to the ISAPS endorsements, a personal mentor can help the mentee select the right meetings to get the most out of them.

To be eligible, you must be an ISAPS Resident or Associate Member for at least one year at the time of applying, and your membership must remain valid throughout the six-month mentorship. If you meet these criteria, you can apply by completing the online application form on the ISAPS website. Please review the full eligibility criteria before submitting your application.

The program is primarily a virtual-mentorship and may include goal-setting, career guidance, skill development, and networking. Mentors can provide advice on professional development, practice management, research and academic skills, and personal or ethical challenges. Specific activities depend on the availability and agreement between the mentor and mentee.

Mentee applicants are matched with a mentor based on their stated interests and goals, mentor preferences, and availability of suitable mentors. ISAPS will review your application and facilitate the matching process.

The mentorship requires a 6 month commitment with a minimum requirement of 6 sessions.

ISAPS offers a range of supporting resources for Mentors and Mentees through our Mentor Program Resource Hub. This includes mandatory and recommended resources ranging from practical tools and templates, to guidance resources, case studies and skills development resources.
