Application and Selection Process
Please read this information carefully to ensure you understand all the steps involved in the application and selection process.
Eligibility
This program is for ISAPS members only. You are eligible to apply if you are either
- a resident in the last year of your national recognized plastic surgical subspecialist training program OR
- recently board certified (within 3 years of certification).
Submission Date
The deadline this year was May 1, 2023, to apply for a fellowship in 2024. Applications must be submitted before 1 May in the year preceding the fellowship you are applying for. Applications for 2025 will be opening shortly.
Location
Once you have made sure you are eligible, it is time to start your online application, and choose your location preferences. We cannot promise that you will be placed in your first choice of location.
Decision Time
The results of the application process will be communicated in the month of October. Our new application portal will allow you to track the status of your application as it goes through the review process, and where you will find an update on whether or not you have been successful.
After Selection
After your selection, all communication will run via the designated secretary of the fellowship unit you have been appointed. This might be direct with your host surgeon, or it may be with their secretary or a program co-ordinator.
Fellowship Coursebook
Once accepted you will receive a coursebook which contains all the relevant information you would need in preparation for your fellowship.
