Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day 2019
- Posted on: Oct 16 2019
Today is #braday! On Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day, we “close the loop” on breast cancer by raising awareness of a woman’s right to reconstructive breast surgery following a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer among women. For women who have undergone a mastectomy or lumpectomy, psychological distress is not uncommon. Breast reconstruction surgery can help! Immediate or delayed reconstruction can help reduce the psychological impact of the procedure, and help women feel better during their cancer recovery.
Breast reconstruction surgery can empower women who have faced or are going through a breast cancer diagnosis. ISAPS plastic surgeons are trained in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery and are proud to support women on their recovery journey.
