This will allow us to coordinate ISAPS donors and volunteers with the ASAPS/ASPS effort.
We know that Haiti desperately needs materials, food, medical supplies, surgeons and money. Surgical help will also be needed later for reconstruction.
Dr. Renato Saltz is in contact with Dr. Craig Hobar whose LEAP Foundation (Life Enhancement Association for People) www.leap-foundation.org has been working in the Dominican Republic for the past 10 years. He has very close ties with that country and most of the help for Haiti will come from there. Craig will be setting up a program to organize reconstructive missions for at least 1-2 years to take care of the injuries. His Foundation immediately made a pledge of $100,000 towards our efforts. He will be waiting to see how many Plastic Surgeons will volunteer.

Dear ISAPS members:
The devastating earthquake in Haiti is now global news. The people of Haiti and the multinational team already on the ground need our help. ASAPS and ASPS are mobilizing their members. ISAPS must also respond.
The Red Cross, CARE, and Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres) are already working in Haiti. Any of our members involved with these organizations should advise us how ISAPS can best help.
