Applications for Active Membership

Thank you for applying for Active Membership in ISAPS. Membership is at the invitation of the Society. The following information will help you determine your eligibility.

Use the menu to complete the on-line application:

  1. Read the requirements carefully and make sure you have all information you will need before starting.
  2. Complete the on-line form: personal and demographic data, training data, photo upload, membership certificate upload, applicant´s certification and sponsor selection.
  3. Click on SUBMIT ON-LINE APPLICATION only when all the information is ready to be sent.
  4. Click on PAY APPLICATION FEES after the online form has been submitted.

Requirements

  • Applicants shall be licensed physicians in the active practice of plastic surgery with a special interest in aesthetic plastic surgery. They must be Full Active Members of their country's ISAPS recognized National Society of Plastic Surgery or the National Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
  • After completing formal training, applicants must have been in the active practice of plastic surgery for at least three (3) years, but in no case less than seven (7) years beyond graduation from medical school to be eligible for membership in ISAPS.
  • Applicants must agree to comply with the Code of Ethics and by-laws of ISAPS. Successful applicants must agree to pay future membership dues and assessments promptly.
  • Active Members of ISAPS who cease to be Full Active Members of the National Society of Plastic Surgeons in their own country shall have their Active Membership in ISAPS terminated automatically.
  • The Executive Committee shall adopt rules governing investigations, hearings, appeals from adverse decisions, and other matters related to the election of an individual for Active Membership.
  • Incomplete Applications will not be accepted.

You must adjust several items during the online application. We recommend you to make sure you have everything before starting the process. DO NOT SEND ANYTHING NOT REQUESTED.

  • 1. Certificate or letter confirming FULL ACTIVE membership in ISAPS-affiliated National Plastic Surgery Society (PDF FORMAT). If you cannot upload the certification as PDF format, you can send it by email (isaps@conmx.net) or by fax (1-603-643-2325).
  • 2. An electronic photo suitable for publication in ISAPS membership roster on the ISAPS website (JPEG or TIFF formats).
  • 3. During the online process, you should also select 3 sponsors who are current active or life ISAPS members, at least one from applicant's own country. You can first check the list of the ISAPS membership, here. If there are no ISAPS members in the applicant's country, then members from another country may sponsor the applicant.

Enter as much data as applies to your training. If you did not participate in an Internship program, skip that question. In most cases, your First Residency Specialty was General Surgery and your Second Residency Specialty may have been some other type of Residency such as Ophthalmology. In most cases, applicants had only one residency program before their Plastic Surgery Residency.

I also understand that I will not be considered by the Membership Committee without full payment of the application fee (non-refundable) and the annual dues for the first year (to be refunded if my application is unsuccessful). You have to select 2,3 or 4 sponsors who are current active or life ISAPS members, at least one from applicant's own country. If there are no ISAPS members in the applicant's country, then members from another country may sponsor the applicant.
